Ein paar Hochrufe

Ihr seid weit gekommen
seit den Mühen von gestern;
von den Tagen und Nächten der Bäckerei
zur relativen Gelassenheit,
die ihr – wie ich doch hoffe – gefunden habt.
Schaut euch um…

Ich weiß, ihr würdet immer noch sagen:
“Ja, ich will”, auch nach all den Jahren.
Also nutzt den Tag und feiert.
Ihr habt euch ein paar Hochrufe verdient.
Und darum sind wir hier.

Hat nicht jemand hoch oben
gesagt: “Gehet hin und mehret euch”?
Manchmal tun Kinder das, was sie sollen;
es kam ein halbes Dutzend
Enkeltöchter zusammen.
Und ich denke, das ist wohl was.
Das ist wirklich was.

Ich weiß, ihr würdet immer noch sagen:
“Ja, ich will”, auch nach all den Jahren.
Also nutzt den Tag und feiert.
Ihr habt euch etwas Jubel verdient.
Und darum sind wir hier:

ein Paar zu bejubeln.
Darum sind wir gekommen:
um zu sagen: “Gut gemacht.”
Und um euch vielleicht ein Lied zu singen.
Also los jetzt, paar Hochrufe
auf Freude und Tränen
eines jeden Jahres,
das gekommen und gegangen ist,
wir sagen: “Gut gemacht,
die Liebe möge weitergehen und weitergehen…“

Und wir wussten, ihr würdet immer noch sagen:
“Ja, ich will”, auch nach all den Jahren.
Und jetzt haben wir euch beide sagen hören
“Ja, ich will”, noch einmal nach all den Jahren.
Also werdet ihr einen Weg finden, komme was
da wolle, mit dem Vertrauen aus all den Jahren.
Und deswegen
sind ein paar Jubelrufe fällig,
von uns,
für euch,
und zwar heut’!
