Part of This Summer – Lyrics

The air is fresh and clean and I know
I’ve been here before
I’ve been here before
I couldn’t ask for more than just
To be part of summer
The world is showing off again
I’ll help to paint the flowers and then
The bell and gate
They’ll let me in for sure

The air’s alive again and I know
I’ve been dead so long
I was almost gone
And now I gather the remains of what was
Me one year ago
And it may show
That I have lost a few
Of the faces that I shared with you
The things that only you could do for me

Now this is past but I can see
It’s finally coming back to me
It’s real again, I’m glad the past
Has become a part of me at last

I lay awake in the darkness
I could not breathe
Thinking it would never leave
My separate personalities
Took turns in watching over me
And fought each other jealously

But now I know that I’m still there
And I feel I could be one again
I still can be a unity
I’m reinstating harmony
To be as I see fit to be in time

I feel my bare feet on the sand
The salty water from your hand
Your eyes that made me understand
This is life and it was meant for me
