Record Tracklist

  1. In the Dead of Winter -:-- / 4:45

When his best friend was about to move to the country Paul wrote a little song in D-major. They played it together at the famous Jugendstil venue Mathilda’s Height with just guitar and ocarina, to no one but themselves. That was a long time ago!

It really was a small song: It had only one verse and a chorus, and a repetitive D-major guitar pattern in typical 60s campfire style.

It still has that, but I added another verse and lots of la-di-da’s and still-I-don’t-know’s.
So I guess now it’s … well, long, don’t you think?

In The Dead Of Winter – Lyrics

I thought you and I could make it
for a thousand miles and more
It didn’t even take us to the door
I thought you didn’t mean it
When you said you had to go
And if you did I thought
There would be too much snow

You left me in the dead of winter
You said to be where you belong
You left me in the dead of winter
Still I don’t know
Where you came from

I thought you and I could make it
For a hundred years and more
No end to what the future holds in store
I thought you didn’t mean it
When you said you had to go
And if you did I thought
There would be too much snow

You left me in the dead of winter
As you said to be where you belong
You left me in the dead of winter
Still I don’t know
Where you came from
